WORLD WARS IN THE TIME OF SALOME

After a 2-year break, due to COVID-19, carnival in Trinidad has returned, and with its revival K2K presents its 2023 Collection is called “World Wars – In the time of Salomé”. Salomé is derived from the Hebrew word shalom which means peace. Thus, the Collection is being interpreted as “War in a time of peace”. The irony about the theme for the 2023 Collection is that war and peace are bounded together, where one ends another begins. Thus, just as war destroys peace, peace conquerors war
